Dear Families,

Yesterday many of our AJA students participated in the 14th National Hackergal Hackathon.  Hackergal is a Canadian charitable organization that works to transform the face of STEM and computer science in Canada, and help build a technology industry that is inclusive of girls and gender diverse learners across Canada. The Hackathon was a collaborative coding event where students came together to solve challenges using technology.  The challenge for this event was to design creative AI solutions that address gender bias. A big thank you to Ms. Vandenberg for all her work preparing students for this fantastic opportunity!

Bike to School Day: Mark your calendars for our annual Bike to School Day on June 3rd.  Stay tuned for more information.

School Council Update:  The Learning Grounds Committee has been working with students to plant strawberries in our front garden.  This is a great learning opportunity for students to help build a sense of community.  A limited quantity of strawberry plants are available through the School Council.  Please  contact them at parents.sjaja@gmail.com if you are interested.
