Dear Families,
We would like to thank our School Council and the Stanly Jones and Alice Jamieson Girls' Academy Fundraising Associations for their ongoing commitment to supporting our school and enriching the experiences of our students. The time, energy, and dedication of parent volunteers make a meaningful difference in our school community. These groups are always looking for more parents to join and help support the many initiatives that benefit our students. Whether you can contribute a little time or become more involved, your participation is valued and appreciated. If you are interested in learning more, please join the next meeting on November 19 at 6:30pm, or visit the School Council and Parent Society sections of our Stanley Jones School website for more information.
The Stanley Jones & Alice Jamieson School Council are hosting a free guest speaker event for parents on Wednesday, November 4 from 7:00–8:00 PM in the Stanley Jones Learning Commons. We are excited to welcome Dr. Sheri Madigan who will be presenting on delaying smartphones and social media use for children. This timely and important conversation will offer valuable insights as we navigate the challenges and benefits of raising children in an increasingly digital world. If you would like to attend, please register using the QR code provided on the attached flyer. We hope you can join us for this informative evening.
We will be recognizing Indigenous Veterans Day and Remembrance Day as a school community on November 10. Students who participate in Cadets, Scouts, and other similar organizations are encouraged to wear their uniforms to school that day. Wearing their uniforms is a meaningful way for students to show respect and honour the service and sacrifices of those who have served our country. Please contact Ms. Beard at cebeard@cbe.ab.ca if you have any questions.
