Dear Families,

Our Alice Jamieson Girls’ Academy (AJA) students have returned from another great leadership camp at Camp Chief Hector. Thank you to the teachers who dedicated their time to make this opportunity possible for students. Staff and students would like to thank the AJA Fundraising Association for their contribution, reducing the overall cost for students.

Meet the Teacher/Welcome Back Food Truck event: Thursday September 25^th, 3:30pm-6:30pm

• Food trucks will be available on the back field, beginning at 3:30pm.  All families are invited to participate in the food truck event and/or bring their own picnic as they visit with other families and teachers.
• Our School Council will have an information table setup, as well as games and activities to enjoy. 
• Thanks to the Stanley Jones and Alice Jamieson Fundraising Associations each student will receive a $5.00 voucher to be used at any of the food trucks. The vouchers will be sent home with students next week.
• The following food trucks will be available: Family Squeezed Lemonade, Happy Fish, BBQ Bob, and Calgary Mini Donuts
• The schedule for the evening is as follows:
• 3:30 – Event begins
• 4:00-4:30 – K-2 families visit their child’s classroom - Enter the school through Door C by the back compound
• 4:45-5:15 – SJ Gr. 3-6 families visit their child’s classroom - Enter the school through Door C by the back compound
• 5:30-6:00 – AJA families visit their child’s classroom - Enter the school through Door C by the back compound
• 6:30 – Event Ends
• Please note, this is not a booked one on one conference with teachers, but is an opportunity for your child to introduce you to their teachers. This will be a drop in format where you will be able to visit your child’s classrooms, view some of their work and documentation boards, and say hello to the teachers.  We invite all students and families to join us at the food trucks, before and after their scheduled time to meet their teachers and visit classrooms.  Ms. Sarah will be available in the office until 4:30pm to assist parents/guardians who want to complete volunteer clearance.

Terry Fox Run: On Friday, September 26^th our students will be participating in the Terry Fox Run. We ask that students wear athletic clothing and proper footwear for running/walking.  Stay tuned for more information from our Phys. Ed department.

Fun Lunch: School Council has organized fun lunches through Healthy Hunger again this year. The next fun lunch is October 8^th. Please go to www.healthyhunger.ca to sign up and place your order.
