Dear Families,

We hope students had a relaxing summer and are looking forward to the 2024-2025 school year. Teachers are back at school planning for the first few days with students; and the office staff is processing new registrations and balancing class numbers to ensure a smooth start up for everyone. You can expect to receive an email from your child’s teacher Tuesday afternoon with some key information about the first 2 days of school. As a reminder, our entry bell rings at 7:45am, school begins at 8:00am, school ends at 2:40pm, and Friday dismissal is 12:15pm. Please note we had to adjust our schedule this year, and lunch begins at 11:03am and ends at 11:43am.

Our school is currently in the process of being painted. CBE painters have been working to get the painting completed as quickly as possible, with the Learning Commons, Circle Room, and Gym almost complete. Next week they will begin painting hallways, washrooms, and the office. Classrooms are not being painted. Please see the attached letter for more information (Stanley Jones - School Painting).

You will receive weekly communication from your child’s teacher, as well as a general message from the school with important information. Please make note of the upcoming dates:

August 29 – First Day of School

September 2 – Labour Day – No School

September 16-19 – AJA grades 7-9 Camp Chief Hector Overnight Trip

September 16 – AJA grades 4-6 and grades 7-9 (not attending the overnight trip) Camp Chief Hector Day Trip

September 24 – School Council - 6:30pm

September 24&25 – SJ grades 5-6 Riverside Day Camp

September 26 – Welcome Back Food Truck Event and Meet the Teacher – 3:30pm-7:30pm

September 27 – Professional Learning Day – No School for Students
